Meet the Birds Koreans
We are an eclectic collective of individuals, based in Korea as well as internationally, teamed up together with a common goal of conserving the birds and their habitats in the Korean peninsula and the wider Yellow Sea Eco-Region. Just as how birds transcend borders, our team make-up does so also.
Each and every one of us champions our role in this network, and would love to be of a resource to you. Come say hello, send us an email, or let's go birding together!
Birds Koreans

Dr. Nial Moores
National Director / Co-Founder
Loves what Birds Korea is striving for - in spite of the exceptionally long hours and the limited financial and technical support available – because of the birds, the places and the great people who choose to volunteer or work with us. Thank you!

Meena Park
National Coordinator / Co-Founder
Drawing on her Master’s degree and career in education, Meena believes that restoring ecosystems and preserving habitats where birds and other life can coexist is a fundamental responsibility we share as inhabitants of this planet.

Dr. Jungmoon Ha
Regional Activist
Dr. Jungmoon Ha is a postdoctoral researcher studying the function and evolution of animal vocalizations and behaviors. With Birds Korea, he contributes to eBird collaborations and the revision of the ROK bird checklist.

Charlie Moores
Co-Founder
Charlie works for Protect the Wild, a UK conservation and anti-hunting movement. He set up and ran Birds Korea’s first website and is proud to support the organisation as it continues to put Korea’s wonderful birdlife on the global map.

Seung-Kwang Baek
DMZ Wetland & Migratory Bird Specialist
Engaged in migratory bird surveys around the DMZ and Imjin River, endangered species habitat conservation, and citizen-driven research, aiming to create a sustainable ecological environment where nature and humans coexist.

Su-Yeon (Angela) Choi
